Visitor Policy

Visitors are welcomed at Lenicia B. Weemes Elementary School.  But, in order to main a safe environment for our students, we require all visitors to follow some guidelines.  In advance, thank you for your cooperation and help in keeping our students safe.  We look forward to seeing you soon!

ALL CAMPUS VISITORS MUST:

• Sign in upon entering the school.
• After signing in proceed to the office, unless you are going to the parent center or a planned school event on campus.  
• If you are picking up your child early, proceed to the office after signing in and be prepared to show identification.
• If you are visiting your child's classroom, stop by the office first.  Please do not proceed straight to the classroom.
• If you intend to observe in your child's classroom, you must obtain the principal/designee approval before proceeding to the classroom. (Be prepared to show identification)
• After a classroom visit, if you wish to speak to the teacher, proceed to the office to leave the teacher a message about scheduling an appointment.  Please do not speak to the teacher during instructional hours.  His/her attention needs to be given to the students.
• Wear the yellow visitor's permit at all times on campus. 
• Return the visitor's permit and sign out before leaving the campus.

SOME IMPORTANT RULES FOR VISITORS:

• Enter and leave the classroom as quietly as possible.
• Do not converse with the students, teacher, and/or instructional aides during the visit.  If needed, you are welcome to make an appointment with the teacher.
• Please do not interfere with any school activity during the visitations.
• Follow school rules and be safe, be respectful, be responsible and be a peacemaker.

Other reminders regarding visitors:

• All visitors must sign-in. (Including LAUSD employees from another location)
• If teachers have invited guest speakers for classroom presentations, the administrator(s) must be notified in advance. Topics must be approved.
• Make administrator(s) aware of teacher's family members (including significant others, spouses, etc.) visiting the school.
• Administrator approval must be obtained for children visiting the school during school hours.
• Visitors invited by teachers must sign out upon leaving the site.
